When something goes wrong,
we’re here to help.
We want you to be happy with every pro you find and every job you get done through Quote That. But plans change, pros are human, and sometimes things go wrong. When they do, we’ll work with you to make it right.
Please read this page and the terms below carefully, so you know what needs to happen for your job to be eligible.
The Quote That Guarantee
If you hire a pro you were matched with through Quote That and the job doesn’t get done, or isn’t done as you agreed, we can pay you back up to $2,500 of what you paid them.
For example: if your painter stops halfway through your kitchen cabinets, or the finish isn’t what you both agreed in writing, tell us within 45 days of the job and we’ll step in.
How it works
- 1
Get it in writing. Before any work starts, agree the scope, price and timing with your pro in a quote, contract or message. It makes clear what you agreed to, and helps us sort out what happened if something goes wrong.
- 2
Tell us within 45 days. Email [email protected] with your name, the address of the job, the pro you hired and what went wrong.
- 3
We help you work it out with your pro. Most problems are resolved by talking them through, so we’ll first help you and your pro try to make it right.
- 4
If it can’t be resolved, we review your claim. If your job is eligible, we’ll reimburse you up to $2,500 of what you paid the pro.
FAQs
What does the guarantee cover?
Money you paid a pro for a job that wasn’t done, or wasn’t done as agreed, up to $2,500. That includes a pro who takes payment and doesn’t do any of the work.
How do I report a problem?
Email [email protected] within 45 days of the job. Include your name, the job address, the pro you hired and a short description of what went wrong. Report it within the 45 days even if you’re still trying to sort it out with the pro.
What do I need to provide?
Proof that you hired the pro: the quote they gave you, plus a message, contract or invoice showing you agreed to hire them. Photos of the problem help us understand what happened.
How long does the process take?
It depends on the job. We’ll confirm we’ve received your claim, then work through it with you and your pro. Claims that can’t be resolved directly take longer to review.
Does this cover damage to my home?
No. The Quote That Guarantee covers money paid for work that wasn’t done as agreed. It doesn’t cover damage to your property, personal injury, or anything else your own insurance or the pro’s insurance would cover.
Do I still need my own insurance?
Yes. The guarantee isn’t insurance and doesn’t replace your homeowner’s insurance. We also recommend checking that any pro you hire carries their own.
Terms and conditions
Some important eligibility details:
- The Quote That Guarantee is limited to $2,500 per job, and to no more than you paid the pro for that job.
- It applies only to the homeowner who submitted the request through Quote That and hired the pro they were matched with.
- You must have hired the pro within 30 days of submitting your request, and before any work started.
- Proof of hire must include the quote the pro gave you and one of the following: messages confirming you agreed to hire the pro; a contract, invoice or other document showing you agreed to hire them.
- You must report the problem within 45 days of the job, even if you are still trying to resolve it with the pro.
- You must first make a good-faith attempt to resolve the problem with the pro. We will help you do this before the guarantee applies.
- The guarantee covers only the work you requested through Quote That and agreed with the pro. Work added later, or agreed outside that scope, isn’t covered.
- It doesn’t cover property damage, personal injury, normal wear, or a result you approved and later changed your mind about.
- Quote That decides whether a claim is eligible and how much is reimbursed, and may change these terms. Changes don’t affect jobs hired before the change.
